Brian Sipe, the QB of the Cleveland Browns, was named the league’s MVP and tied for the best record in the AFC. All five playoff teams in the AFC finished 11-5, but base off tiebreaker rules, the San Diego Chargers were awarded the number one seed. In the NFC, a three teams finished 12-4 to tie for the number one seed. Based off tiebreakers, the Atlanta Falcons were awarded the number one seed.
Super Bowl 15 hosted the Oakland Raiders and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Raiders took down the number one seed, the San Diego Chargers 34-27 in the AFC Championship game. The Eagles defeated the Dallas Cowboys 20-7 in the NFC Championship game. The Raiders went into halftime leading 14-3 thanks to two touchdowns from Jim Plunkett. The Raiders would extend their lead by 10 in the third, the Eagles scored once in the fourth but it was not enough. The Raiders would win 27-10, Jim Plunkett was named Super Bowl MVP. Plunkett threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns.
