The 1995-96 NBA season was the 30th for the Chicago Bulls. During the offseason, the Bulls signed one of the best rebounders in the NBA, Dennis Rodman from the San Antonio Spurs. The Bulls finished the season with the best record in NBA history going 72-10 on the season, until the Golden State Warriors won 73 games in the 2015 season. The Bulls won 37 straight games while playing in their home arena, and they also won 44 straight games during that span. Michael Joran led the NBA scoring averaging 30.4 points a game and Jordan was announced as the NBA MVP.
After finishing the season with the best record in NBA history, the Chicago Bulls made their way through the playoffs and made it to the finals. The Bulls took on the Seattle SuperSonics. The Bulls won the first three games in the series, but the SuperSonics closed the gap and won the next in the series. In game six, the Bulls closed out the SuperSonics winning 87-75. Jordan scored 22 points on the night, and Dennis Rodman scooped up 19 rebounds, with 11 being offensive. Jordan was announced as the NBA Finals MVP averaging 27.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
