The New England Patriots would take on the Carolina Panthers on February 1, 2004 in Houston, Texas. Once again the game featured another scoreless quarter in the third, but it heated up in the fourth. The Panthers would outscore the Patriots 19 to 18, but it was not enough as Adam Vinatieri hit a 41-yard field goal for the win with four seconds left to make it 32-29. Tom Brady would win his second Super Bowl MVP award after throwing 354 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.
