Instead of running the ball with the strongest running back in the game, the Seahawks tried to pass the ball. The Seahawks would try to have one wide receiver slant, and the other run at the defender defending him and set a pick. Rookie Malcolm Butler saw what they were trying to do and jumped the route to intercept the ball and seal the game for the Patriots. Tom Brady was awarded the MVP of the game award. Brady threw for 328 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Brady also helped the Pats comeback to win after being down 24 to 14 in the third quarter.
