Cam Newton won his first MVP award and helped lead the Panthers to a 15-1 season with their only loss going to the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers destroyed the Arizona Cardinals 49 to 15 to make their way to the big dance.

The Panthers defense kept the game close for most of the game, with 5 sacks on Manning and forcing two turnovers. That was not good enough as Manning won his second Super Bowl and was able to ride off in the sunset as a champion.
